Popular Thai surnames
This table show popular Thai surnames. In Thailand, surnames typically follow the father's surname. Children take on their father's surname as their own surname. However, some women may choose to keep their maiden name after marriage, and in certain cases, a child may take on the mother's surname if the parents are not married. The use of surnames in Thailand is not as rigid as in some western cultures, and it is common for people to use only one name.

Thai first names
In Thailand, parents typically choose a first name for their child based on tradition and cultural significance. They often consult with Buddhist monks or astrologers to determine an auspicious name that will bring good luck and prosperity to the child. Some families also choose names that have a meaningful connection to their family or ancestors. In addition, many Thai names have specific meanings and are chosen based on the gender of the child and the parents' preferences.
