Syrian first names
In Syria, parents typically pick a first name for their child based on traditional Arabic names and their meanings. They may also consider the names of family members or religious figures as inspiration. The name is often chosen with the guidance of grandparents or other family members, and is typically chosen before the birth of the child. Cultural and religious beliefs also play a big role in the selection of a first name.

Popular Syrian surnames
In Syria, surnames typically pass down through the father's line. Children take on their father's surname and it is not common for women to change their surname upon marriage. However, in some cases, a woman may choose to adopt her husband's surname as a sign of respect or to show unity within the family. Additionally, it is not uncommon for people to have multiple surnames, with their father's and grandfather's names being included in their full legal name.
